Campervan Hire Christchurch

April 9, 2008

Christchurch is the best getaway South of New Zealand. It’s an ideal place to explore and have that family travel in your New Zealand Campervan hire. Much of the area is urbanized, very agricultural but with a lot of commercial establishments. You can drive in your Christchurch RV rental through the roads and tunnels through Port Hills, which connects the city to the port of Lyttelton. Christchurch was founded in 1850 by a Canterbury Association which was a British society. This society was affiliated with the Church of England. In fact, the city was named after Christ Church College at the University of Oxford, in England.

The city is quite known for having a lot of educational institutions. You can take the entire family on a drive in your New Zealand Motor home hire and see the following: the University of Canterbury established in 1873, and the Lincoln University founded in 1878 as the Canterbury Agricultural College in Canterbury.

To see Christchurch at its finest, drive around the city in your Christchurch Motor home rental and look for the weekend Arts Centre market, the Christchurch Cathedral, the Botanic Gardens and the International Antarctic Centre. Drive some more in the city in your New Zealand Campervan hire and visit the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna or the Waiwhetu which has an exhibit of New Zealand’s and other international art. The Canterbury Museum has a great collection and a real treat is for kids to dig for fossils, and take a closer look at tarantulas!  Read more reads at Campervan hire New Zealand motorhome rental
